Now that you’re the expert, write a brief training memo for new housekeeping supervisors and managers called “How to Fire a Union Worker.”  Don’t copy and paste anything – write this in your own voice summarizing what you’ve learned for their benefit.  You can write this in whatever style you want if you think they’ll read it, but the two most important parts will be to explain what “just cause” means and how progressive discipline works.  If you have the space you can give them a little step by step pocket guide.
